About Enteric-coated Rabeprazole Sodium and Sustained-Release Levosulpiride Capsules

This medication is a combination of two powerful formulations, Levosulpiride and Rabeprazole that belongs to the group of medications called gastrointestinal agents that are primarily used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn, acidity, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, helicobacter pylori infection, irritable bowel syndrome, indigestion, duodenal and gastric ulcers.

Both formulations work in different ways and provide a better treatment. Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), which works by decreasing the amount of acid produced in our stomach by blocking the enzyme responsible for acid production called gastric proton pump which is not good for health. Its enteric-coated formula protects the formulation from stomach acids and ensures it properly reaches the intestines where it can be properly absorbed. On the other side, Levosulpiride is a prokinetic agent that increases the pressure on the food pipe and reduces the backflow of the food into the mouth. Its sustain-released formula provides advantages like fewer side effects, stable absorption levels in plasma and blood, and long effects.
